Rev. Nancy Knox Rev. Nancy Knox came to Ebenezer in January of 2023. She brings with her over 40 years of experience as a United Church minister. Nancy grew up on a small dairy farm just north of Ebenezer and attended M.J. Hobbs and Courtice Secondary schools so she is familiar with our community from her various connections over the years. Nancy enjoys the beauty of small vibrant congregations and is delighted to be able to provide leadership and pastoral care at Ebenezer. Nancy works at Ebenezer for 80% time and is most often at the church from Sunday to Wednesday. If you don't find her at the church she is likely in her garden, watching a movie or reading a book.
Tracey Marek, Organist/Choir Director
Tracy has been the organist/choir director at Ebenezer since September 2015. His life story and many special experiences have all played a significant role culminating in his position here. Raised in Oakville, Ontario, conservatory piano lessons began at age six. Tracy grew up attending Sunday School and church every Sunday with his parents until the end of high school. It was hearing great church music at an early age that sparked his interest in learning to play the piano. During his teen years he was involved in the many musical opportunities at his high school as well as being the piano accompanist for the church youth choir. Tracy was also the summer replacement church organist for two summers before heading off to university. At Western, in London, Ontario, more rewarding experiences awaited, including choirs, stage band, opera, musical theatre and variety shows. Tracy completed his music degree and education degree before moving to the Durham region for employment as a music teacher with the Durham District School Board. During the latter part of his career, Tracy completed a master’s degree and shifted into school administration. He also continued his involvement in the local community music scene. Now retired from the school system, Tracy has found that being involved in church music again feels like returning to his roots.
